The Russian Market of Brewer's Malt; Results of the Survey of the Largest Russian Manufacturers of Beer (III quarter 2005)
In the third quarter of 2005, Consulting Agency Market Advice Ltd. carried out a research study of the market of brewer's malt in order to study situation and prospects of consumption of the malt in manufacture of beer at the largest Russian breweries, prospects of development of own sources of raw-material and of malt-house construction in the Russian Federation. For this purpose, a survey of experts (main brewers, main technologists, experts of purchase departments of 50 leading enterprises of brewer's branch) was performed with use of the method of profound telephone interviewing.
Data were obtained as answers to the following questions:
- Kinds of malt used at the surveyed enterprises (wheaten and barley) and their origin (Russian, foreign)
- Consumption of Russian and foreign malt in the summer of 2005 and in the first half-year of 2005
- Interest of national manufacturers in developing sources of raw-material for brewer's barley manufacture
- Volume of consumption of malt in the first half-year of 2005
- Annual capacity of brewing equipment at the enterprises and its load
- Estimation of quality characteristics of imported and Russian malt
- Segmentation of the beer made depending on quality of malt
- Advantages of malt made from barley Annabel and Scarlett
- Purchase prices of the Russian and foreign malt in the summer of 2005; their changes in comparison with the last same period
- Priorities in quality characteristics of malt
